Paying for college can be a terrifying endeavor! But don't be paralyzed by fear of the ever-growing costs of higher education. If you're a United Methodist student planning to enroll full-time at one of the 115+ United Methodist-related colleges, universities, or seminaries next year then we can help.
Every year, the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation awards over $2.3 million in scholarships to make it econimically possible for students like you to attend college. Mark your calendars now for January 1, 2019. That's the day we begin accepting scholarship applications for the 2019-2020 school year. Our two main scholarships programs include General Named Endowed scholarships, which awards a number of named scholarship funds established by various donors, and the United Methodist Dollars for Scholars (UMDFS) program. The UMDFS program starts with a $1,000 scholarship from your sponsoring church and can be matched up to $4,000 by UMHEF and participating UM foundations and schools. Learn more about these programs here.
ELIGIBILITY for UMHEF scholarships is simple*:
- Must be an active, full member of The United Methodist Church for at least one year prior to applying.
- Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time degree program (undergraduate or graduate) at a United Methodist-related college or seminary in the United States.
- Doctoral (Ph.D.) candidates are not eligible.
