Lent is an important time in the Christian year when we can prepare our hearts and spirits for Jesus. The forty days of Lent, not counting Sundays, last from Ash Wednesday through Easter Saturday. The time period represents the forty days Jesus suffered in the wilderness, enduring the temptations of Satan by remaining close to God through fasting and prayer.
During this season of Advent, we invite you to prepare your hearts for the Savior's coming with brief and meaningful devotions sent to your inbox each Sunday through Christmas. Each devotion will include a short Bible verse from the story of Jesus' birth and will lead you to think on what it means to light each Advent candle as we often do in worship during this season.

Second only to John Wesley’s passion for taking the gospel to all the world was his passion for all to be educated. He believed education was key in bringing the masses to Christianity.
Join us as we look back to 2017 and celebrate the ways in which your generosity has impacted the lives of United Methodist students as they pursue higher education. The 2017 UMHEF Annual Review is now available for you to view and/or download.
