Unrestricted donations to the Foundation are welcome, so that funds may be used in the area of the greatest need. In addition, the following is a list of specified funds benefiting United Methodist students and are open for contribution.

ALEX ARMOUR ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP — Provides scholarships for students selected by the Chamberlayne Heights United Methodist Church, Richmond, VA.

AUSTELL FIRST UNITED METHODIST MEMORIAL FUND — Provides scholarships for post-high school matriculation for deserving and needy members of the Austell First United Methodist Church and also for humanitarian needs of persons living in or near Austell, Georgia.

BALTIC METHODIST THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY ENDOWMENT FUND — Provides general support for Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary in Tallinn, Estonia.

ERNEST I. BASS AND EURICE MILLER BASS SCHOLARSHIP — Assists high school graduates of high purpose and commitment in securing a basic undergraduate college or comparable post secondary school education. In accordance with the donor--- request, preference will be given to persons preparing for the ministry or other full-time religious vocations.

(CTS) *COLEMAN TYSON SIEKMANPRISON CHAPLAIN SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT — Assists endorsed persons seeking to complete the requirement for professional certification to serve as chaplains in the criminal justice system; and persons preparing to meet the requirements for endorsement to gain certification and training to serve as chaplains in the criminal justice system.

THE WILLIAM HORACE CATO AND JULIA PORTER CATO MEMORIAL FUND — Provides assistance for the humanitarian needs, which may include scholarships for needy and deserving students, of persons living in or near Pageland, SC.

CHALFANT UNITED METHODIST CHURCH ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP — Available to students from the East Ohio Annual Conference who are preparing for the ministry at an accredited institution and are approved by the East Ohio Annual Conference Division of Ordained Ministry or Division of Diaconal Ministry.

CHAMBERLAYNE HEIGHTS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH SCHOLARSHIP FUND — Provides scholarships for students selected by the Chamberlayne Heights United Methodist Church, Richmond, VA.

GLENN COX ENDOWMENT FOR CENTRAL METHODIST UNIVERSITY — Provides scholarship assistance for United Methodist students attending Central Methodist University.

HUGH L. DAVIS AND DONALD L. ADAMS SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT — Provides scholarship support for United Methodist students attending Banska Bystrica Seminary in Slovakia, and also to support the ministry/mission of the Methodist Church in Slovakia.

DEMPSTER GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP — Awards made annually to graduate students currently teaching or planning to teach in seminaries, or teaching or planning to teach religion and related subjects in universities or colleges. Click here for more information about the Dempster Graduate Fellowship.

VERDE DICKEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP — Assists high school graduates of high purpose and commitment in securing a basic undergraduate college or comparable post secondary school education at a United Methodist-related institution. Priority is given to students in their junior or senior year majoring in education or physical education who plan to become teachers or coaches.

FRANKLIN L. FARIS ENDOWMENT FOR HIWASSEE COLLEGE — Provides scholarship assistance for United Methodist students attending Hiwassee College.

FIRST METHODIST FOUNDATION OF PHOENIX — Provides scholarships for students selected by the First Methodist Foundation of Phoenix, AZ.

FIRST UNITED METHODIST FOUNDATION OF SUN CITY, AZ — Pays current expenses, including support of the Jones Chair, support of the Wesley Chair, support of the Craig Chair, and scholarships at the School of Theology at Claremont.

BISHOP ERNEST FITZGERALD SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND — Provides a full-ride scholarship for one student at a time for the length of that student enrollment at Greensboro College.

GEORGIA HARKNESS SCHOLARSHIP — To encourage women over 35 to prepare for ordained ministry as an elder as a second career. Grants are awarded each year for the basic seminary degree leading to elder — ordination in The United Methodist Church. This award is not available for undergraduate, D.Min, or Ph.D. work. JIM AND GLENER GILLAND SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT — Provides scholarships for students from Western North Carolina attending the Divinity School at Duke University.

HOLLY ELLIOTT & LAUREL GLASS SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FOR SEMINARY STUDY BY PERSONS WHO ARE DEAF, DEAFENED, DEAF-BLIND, OR HARD OF HEARING — Provides scholarship grants to any United Methodist Theological School for individuals who are deaf, deafened, deaf-blind, or hard of hearing. The grants are intended for seminary education for persons wishing to be prepared for specialized ministries in the church, including, but not restricted to those who wish to become ordained.

*GREEN MOUNTAIN COLLEGE STUDENT ASSISTANCE FUND — Provides scholarship assistance to students attending Green Mountain College.

*LISA HANSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP — Provides scholarship assistance for United Methodist students.

FRED H. HEATHER MEMORIAL CLINICAL PASTORAL EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND — Provides scholarship assistance for members of The United Methodist Church who want the training and experience of Clinical Pastoral Education.

AGNES B. AND BENJAMIN F. HILDEBRAND SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT — Provides scholarships for students to study at Claflin University. It is intended that the scholarship should stay with one student from admission through graduation.

HISTORICALLY BLACK COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES FUND — Provides scholarship assistance to United Methodist students attending any of the Historically Black Colleges of The United Methodist Church.

ADELINE HOLMES FUND — Provides annual funds to be utilized as special Black College Fund gifts.

REVEREND AND MRS. JAMES M. HOOVER AND BISHOP AND MRS. EDWIN F. LEE MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT FUND — Provides scholarship grants to foreign students from Southeast Asia and Fukien Province (students who are not citizens or residents of the United States).

*VERN AND DOLORES JONES ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND AT SAN DIEGUITO UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Assists high school graduates who are members in good standing at San Dieguito United Methodist Church attend an institution of higher education.

KATRINA CAMPUS MINISTRY RECOVERY — Supports the recovery efforts of gulf coast campus ministries affected by Hurricane Katrina through the Coordinating Committee of United Methodist Campus Ministers Association (UMCMA).

KIRKPATRICK GRANT - OXFORD INSTITUTE ENDOWMENT OF THE WORLD METHODIST COUNCIL — Provides funds to support the Dow Kirkpatrick lecture at the Oxford Institute, an arena for World Methodist theologians.

BRUCE KRESGE SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT — Provides scholarship assistance for United Methodist students attending Albion College.

THE BETTY ANN LIVINGSTON SCHOLARSHIP — Preference will be given to current members of Macedonia United Methodist Church (Macedonia UMC) in Macedonia, Ohio who are planning to study pre-law, medicine, public policy, literature, or a related field.

LON MORRIS COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT— Provides scholarship assistance for United Methodist students attending Lon Morris College.

BISHOP JAMES LLOYD AND EDITH KNOX SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT — Provides scholarship assistance for United Methodist students attending Florida Southern College.

MAE W. MORROW HONORARY SCHOLARSHIP FUND AND MARVIN RAY MORROW SCHOLARSHIP FUND ---  Provides financial assistance to deserving United Methodist students who are members of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Claremont, NC.

PRISCILLA R. MORTON SCHOLARSHIP — Assists needy students of high scholastic standing.

NATIONAL TEMPERANCE SOCIETY FUND — Provides scholarship assistance to United Methodist students attending any United Methodist-related higher education institution.

NATIVE ALASKAN FUND — Provides scholarship assistance to Native Alaskan United Methodist students attending any United Methodist-related higher education institution; or to United Methodist students attending Alaska Pacific University.

*NIXON SCHOLARSHIP FUND OF TRINITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, EUGENE, OR — Provides scholarship assistance to an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church according to the student selection process established and administered by the Nixon Scholarship Fund and Trinity United Methodist Church.

OXFORD INSTITUTE ENDOWMENT OF THE WORLD METHODIST COUNCIL — Provides funds to support the Oxford Institute, an arena for World Methodist theologians.

MARGARET PITTS SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT  — Provides scholarship assistance for United Methodist students attending Andrew College.

*PLEASANT VIEW UNITED METHODIST CHURCH ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP, Pleasant View, TN — Provides scholarship assistance to a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church, according to the student selection process established and administered by the Pleasant View United Methodist Church.

PORTLAND UNITED METHODIST CENTER SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND — Provides scholarship assistance for students attending a United Methodist-related higher education institution.

CHAPLAIN SAMUEL GROVER POWELL SCHOLARSHIP FUND — Provides scholarship assistance to students preparing for chaplaincy in any branch of the military.

MARVIN RAY AND MAE W. MORROW MEMORIAL FUND — Provides assistance for the humanitarian needs, which may include scholarships for needy and deserving students, of persons living in or near Claremont, NC.

RED BIRD MISSIONARY CONFERENCE ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP — Provides scholarship assistance to students in the Red Bird Missionary Conference.

DAVID D. REED — “PAY IT FORWARD” SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT — Provides scholarship assistance for United Methodist students attending Southwestern College in Winfield, KS.

*MARY TULLIS REXROAT SCHOLARSHIP FUND — Provides scholarship assistance for students attending any United Methodist-related higher education institution.

MABEL D. RUSSELL BLACK COLLEGE FUND — Provides scholarship assistance to students attending institutions supported by the Black College Fund of The United Methodist Church.

RUSSIA THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY ENDOWMENT — Provides support for the Theological Seminary of The Russia United Methodist Church.

(SEUT) SEMINARIO EVANGELICO UNIDO DE TEOLOGIA UNITED EVANGELICAL THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY) ENDOWMENT (NEW SCHOLARSHIP)
The scholarship endowment was established in November of 2008 with the purpose of creating a permanent fund for the Seminario Evangelico Unido de Teologia in El Escorial, Spain.

SAGAN SERVANT LEADER SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT — Provides scholarship assistance to United Methodist students at Ohio Wesleyan University exhibiting exemplary leadership in church, academic campus, and community outreach activities, exemplifying the servant leader qualities of John Sagan--- life.

SAINT PAUL SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY — Provides scholarship assistance to students at Saint Paul School of Theology.

JULIUS S., JR. AND IANTHIA H. SCOTT ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP — Provides scholarship assistance to United Methodist students attending Paine College, Wiley College or Philander Smith College.

*SECTION OF CHAPLAINS AND RELATED MINISTRIES SPECIAL FUND — Provides grants to special individuals, groups, or organizations or to support special one-time programs for which no apportioned funds are available.

SEPTEMBER 11 MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND — Provides scholarship assistance for direct victims and dependents of victims of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 in New York City. The scholarships are restricted to either: (1) students attending one of the 122 United Methodist-related institutions in the United States, or (2) United Methodist students attending higher-education institutions in the United States.

LUCILE SHIVLEY ENDOWMENT FOR HENDRIX COLLEGE — Provides scholarship assistance for United Methodist students attending Hendrix College.

SIERRA VISTA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND AT SIERRA VISTA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH — Provides scholarship assistance to students who are members of Sierra Vista United Methodist Church, Sierra Vista, AZ.

RICHARD SMALL SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT  — Provides scholarship assistance for United Methodist students attending Cornell College.

SOUTH GEORGIA CONFERENCE UNITED METHODIST MEN’S FUND — Provides scholarship assistance for United Methodist students attending Andrew College.

THE LEMUEL C. SUMMERS SCHOLARSHIP — Provides scholarships to worthy persons coming from any race, from any place, and from any political or religious background, to study at any institution anywhere, provided such institution is approved by the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation. Scholarships may be granted for undergraduate, graduate, or professional study. Preference is given to persons preparing for Christian ministry.

ELLA TACKWOOD FUND — Provides scholarship assistance for students attending any of the Historically Black Colleges of The United Methodist Church.

THOMAS HENRY TALTON MEMORIAL TRUST  — Provides scholarship assistance for United Methodist students attending any United Methodist-related higher education institution through the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation--- Foundation Merit Scholarship program.

THORNBOROUGH UNITED METHODIST HIGHER EDUCATION FOUNDATION LOAN FUND — Provides loans to enable United Methodist students to attend a United Methodist-related higher education institution.

*WILLIAM P. TOLLEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT — Provides scholarship assistance to United Methodist students at any United Methodist-related college or university who are preparing for a career in college administration.

PEGGY WORTHY TOWNES ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP — Provides scholarship assistance to United Methodist students who are entering freshmen attending any United Methodist-related college or university.

TOM TROTTER SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT — Provides scholarship assistance to students attending Claremont School of Theology.

CAL TURNER ENDOWMENT FOR LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE — Provides scholarship assistance for United Methodist students attending Lindsey Wilson College.

(UBL) UNIVERSIDAD BIBLICA LAINTOAMERICANA ENDOWMENT (NEW SCHOLARSHIP)
The scholarship endowment was established in December 2008 with the purpose of creating a permanent fund for the Universidad Biblica Latinoamericana, a seminary based in Costa Rica with 19 centers in 14 countries.

The "Pass It On" Fund — Provides scholarship support under the umbrella of the United Methodist Dollars for Scholars program for members of the Hendersonville UMC, Hendersonville, TN attending United Methodist-related higher education institutions in the United States.

WRIGHT SCHOLARSHIP — Assists United Methodist students from the state of Virginia who plan to be in ministry in The United Methodist Church and attend a United Methodist-related school of theology; or attend a United Methodist-related college or university and are involved in liberal arts education and intend to study theology; or attend Virginia Wesleyan College.

KEN YAMADA SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT — Provides scholarship assistance to United Methodist students who are entering freshmen attending any United Methodist-related college or university.

YAMAGATA FUND — Promotes Christian higher education in Japan and academic and religious exchange between Japan and the United States. Funds are distributed to students, faculty members and educational institutions.
